I am a sculptor who exhibits nationally and works to commission with pieces going in private collections in the UK and abroad. Predominantly working in local, reclaimed Delabole slate with artisan glass and found items to create bespoke garden sculpture and furniture.

I moved into my unit when it was brand new in 2019.

I had been looking for a larger workspace for some time but had been deterred because contracts were often complicated, tying people into long-term leases with high rents despite many units looking quite old and tired.

Clear Space offered a large, modern, fit-for-purpose workspace at a very reasonable rent with no implications if I found I was not suited to working in the environment.

It has been a great asset, providing a secure base that has seen my business go from strength to strength. 

The space is large, flexible with good natural light so I can now work on several large pieces at one time with all my tools easily to hand. It is also suitable when welcoming clients, with ample space to display work.

Clear Space is far from a stereotypical industrial site. It has a diverse mix of traditional and creative businesses with people of all ages, genders and walks of life. It has a great community spirit with people always willing to help each other out. On the rare occasion when there is an issue, the landlords are highly responsive with the problem rectified swiftly and professionally. They are also very supportive of their tenants and generous with their business knowledge, encouraging every business to succeed. 

Also, for me as a lone female worker who works long odd hours, I have never felt unsafe at the units. The site is well lit, has CCTV and is always very well maintained.

I have no hesitation in encouraging anyone looking to start or grow their business to choose Clear Space. The contract really is as simple as it looks and great value for money.

The development provides modern, good quality units in a safe and clean environment. 

It is a low cost, low risk option with a lovely community and supportive management, a combination that a business would be hard pushed to find elsewhere.
